On Wednesday, July 9, 2009, Sally Zito was presented with the 2009 Comet Award by the Los Angeles Women in Music Board of Directors. This award is given to a performer who has graced our stage and recognizes excellence as an artist, songwriter, musician and overall performer. Sponsored by ASCAP, Orsino Publicity and MasterWriter, the evening featured the talents of this year's recipient, Sally Zito, as well as an opening performance by prio year's recipient, Anna Montomery.
