LOS ANGELES – Mar. 26, 2012 – Vic Firth Inc. has partnered with Los Angeles Women in Music (LAWIM) as a product sponsor for Young Talent Night, a program that supports LAWIM's Musical Gifts and Scholarship Fund for kids in need. Vic Firth joins Daisy Rock Girl Guitars, DayJams Rock Music Day Camp, Guitar It Up For Girls, ReadyMix Music, and Audio 2000's in providing products and services to individual kids, classrooms, and programs that are gifted on a monthly basis by LAWIM.

The initial gift of sticks and mallets presented at the March 17th showcase will help launch a new drumline program at A Place Called Home, a non-profit youth center in South Central Los Angeles.

Part of our mission is to nurture up-and-coming talent and reach out to the community through music. Young Talent Night is a live webcast showcase for young performers that provides an opportunity for kids to perform in an intimate, eclectic setting for a small audience of family and friends. LAWIM and President, Leanne Summers, were honored at the 2011 Project MuszEd “Making a Notable Difference” Awards for this program.
