Andrea Brauer has been in the music business for 30 years and has practiced entertainment law for 20 of these. A graduate of the University of Southern California Law School, she currently heads her own law firm in Los Angeles. A large part of her practice is devoted to independent music business ventures and she currently represents numerous records labels, publishers, production companies and managers as well as independent artists. Her specialties include trademarks, copyrights, and contract drafting/negotiations. Andrea also is or has been a legal consultant to several arts organizations in Los Angeles such as the Songwriter’s Guild, Los Angeles Women in Music, the AF of M, and Artillery Magazine.

Throughout her career, Andrea has taken a special interest in emerging talent, particularly composers and songwriters. To that end, she has been involved, almost from their inception, with the development and continuing evolution of music libraries as an adjunct and alternative to traditional music publishing. To this day, she is active in exploring the many ways in which new technology contributes to and enhances this important distribution medium.
