Our Speaker Dan Kimpel
Dan Kimpel is the author of a series of best-selling music industry books: Networking Strategies for the New Music Business, Electrify My Soul: Songwriters and the Spiritual Source, How They Made It: True Stories of How Music's Biggest Stars Went From Start to Stardom and Networking in the Music Business. New for 2009 is It All Begins with the Music: Developing Successful Artists & Careers for the New Music Business, co-authored with legendary A&R executive, Don Grierson.
As a journalist and interviewer, Dan contributes to a dizzying variety of print and electronic mediums. His recent interview subjects include Natalie Cole, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, Green Day, Usher, Smokey Robinson and Natasha Bedingfield.
As a visiting faculty member for five years at Sir Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in the UK, Dan developed a curriculum for networking in a professional music business environment. His high-energy lectures on personal presentation skills are favorites at music industry conferences and seminars worldwide. He is currently a faculty member at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California where he was recently named MBP Instructor of the Year.
