MUSIC PLACEMENTS... Signing Your Song or Your Soul?
with Entertainment Attorney, Andrea Brauer, Esq.
November 02, 2011
The contract... a continuation of our look at the future of music publishing and music libraries.
For those who attended part 1 of this series, you have learned that music libraries and non-exclusive song deals are, at least for now, the predominant way of doing business. This second part of the series will deal with the contractual aspects of these types of deals--what to look for and what to look out for. Shockingly, many new music libraries have little practical experience in how income is actually collected. As a result, their contracts can inadvertently usurp the writer's control of their songs forever! This legal nuts and bolts class will alert you to the many pitfalls of novice and even long standing music library/publishing agreements.
NOTE: You need not have attended Part 1 to take advantage of this workshop.
One lucky attendee will WIN a FREE LEGAL CONSULTATION! Raffle ticket included with PAID Reservation.
