Kathleen Wirt - V.P., Membership
Owner/Operator, 4th Street Recording Studio

KATHLEEN WIRT has operated the legendary 4th Street Recording studio in Santa Monica, CA since 1987, and has been the sole owner since 2001. Twenty-two acts have been signed to record deals through 4th Street Recording, starting with Fiona Apple, whose spec deal recording of “Shadowboxer” became the first single on her Grammy-nominated multi-platinum album “Tidal.” Next came Incubus, Alien Ant Farm, and Hoobastank, all to become platinum-selling artists. more



Bridget Gardiner - V.P., Industry Relations
Director, EX'PRESSION COLLEGE (San Jose)

BRIDGET GARDINER is currently the Campus Director for EX'PRESSION College (San Jose). For the better part of the last decade, she managed a full-service recording studio in Phoenix; coordinated projects for award winning producers and bands; and planned and promoted well over a hundred live events. In March of 2011, Bridget accepted the position of Los Angeles Campus Director for SAE Institute, bringing with her a first-hand understanding of the challenges facing recording students thrust into an intensely competitive and rapidly changing industry. Her direct real-world experience in recording and production, and her relationships with working professionals in the Los Angeles recording industry, has made Bridget a uniquely qualified and exciting addition to the management team of SAE Institute. Bridget has a Business and Accounting Degree from Phoenix College.


Michelle Krell Malone - Secretary

Pianist / Songwriter

MICHELLE KRELL MALONE (aka Michelle Krell) is a songwriter, keyboard player and singer, with a self-penned CD, Concrete Scrapbook, produced by Travis Allen. Currently, Michelle is writing music for lyrics by David Brunoehler (David wrote and co-wrote many of the songs on albums by the artist Melanie), and is also writing material for music libraries with Debbie Hennessey. Her song "Sea of Happy Dreams" appears on the soundtrack of the movie, "Boston Girls," written by and starring Camille Solari, which premiered as part of the 2010 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. more

LENISE BENT is one of the first women engineers in the industry and honed her skills on many iconic records including Aja by Steely Dan, Breakfast in America by Supertramp and Tusk by Fleetwood Mac, as well as being the first woman to receive a platinum album for engineering for Blondie’s “AutoAmerican” record which included “The Tide is High” and the very first hit rap song “Rapture”. more




Jessica Brizuela
Harpist / Music Therapist

JESSICA BRIZUELA is a harpist, Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), and Certified Neurologic Music Therapist native to Los Angeles. She actively performs all over the Los Angeles area and has entertained audiences with classical to jazz harp performances at Boston Symphony Hall, The Boston Harp Festival, The American Harp Society’s 50th Anniversary Conference in New York, and at Camac’s Festival International de Harpe in Ancenis France. She is a member of the American Harp Society and enjoys her involvement with the Los Angeles Chapter. more

HARRIET SCHOCK is a songwriter (wrote words and music for the Grammy-nominated "Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady"), a recording artist with seven solo albums, a performer, a songwriting consultant, teacher and lecturer as well as an author and an actor. She has held positions as President and Vice President of Los Angeles Women in Music and was the HOST of the monthly Singer-Songwriter Night (formerly known as the Soirée) - the longest running original music showcase in L.A. - 23 years! more



Nicole Slater - Social Media & Marketing

Manager of Marketing, Slacker Radio / Social Media & Branding Consultant

NICOLE SLATER serves as the Marketing Manager for SLACKER RADIO heading social media, email and mobile marketing.  In addition she works as a social media & branding consultant working with artists, engineers, and recording studios to increase web metrics, improve digital branding and develop engaging social media strategies.
