Iris GordyIris Gordy

Music industry veteran, Iris Gordy, is a former Vice President of Motown Records. She is credited with helping to launch the careers of Rick James, Teena Marie, DeBarge and gospel powerhouse, Tata Vega. Ms. Gordy has numerous production credits to her name, including albums by Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, The Four Tops and The Temptations. Ms. Gordy, long known for having a 'good ear' for music, began her career listening to music in Motown's renowned Quality Control Department, in Detroit.  In Los Angeles, she headed the department's West Coast Division, before becoming Vice President of Motown's Creative (A&R) Division. In addition to her LAWiM affiliation, Ms. Gordy is an entertainment consultant, writer, speaker and the founder of Friends of Fuller B. Gordy, which honors the legacy of her father, Motown executive, humanitarian and professional bowler, Fuller Gordy. Ms. Gordy serves on the Executive Boards of The Rhythm & Blues Foundation and Make Music Los Angeles (MMLA), an L. A. County-wide musical experience, launching on June 21, 2012.

Judi PulverJudi Pulver

Music biz vet, Judi Pulver, is the Director of Music Advertising at VARIETY. Responsible for all music-related print and online sales, she is tasked with developing opportunities and revenue streams in the music sector for the global showbiz news brand. Prior, Pulver spent 27 years at the Hollywood Reporter, where she created the newspaper’s film and TV music editorial franchise and spearheaded its annual two-day conference sponsored by ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. Earlier in her career, Judi was a singer, songwriter and keyboard player and was signed to MGM Records. She serves on the executive committee of the music industry chapter of the City of Hope medical research organization, and the Film Musicians Secondary Market Fund Board, which provides support to film musicians for the payment, processing and distribution of residuals generated by their talent and services.

 

Ilene WeingardIlene Weingard

Ilene Weingard is an award-winning art director in the entertainment industry, and the Principal and Creative Director for I Design Studio. Specializing in logo design, branding, key art, packaging, book design and websites, I Design’s clients include record labels Universal Music Group, BMG, Savoy Jazz and Virgin Records; film studios Walt Disney, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros.; and fashion and corporate branding campaigns for new companies. Ilene created a catalog showcasing the work of 50 diverse, female artists, entitled, “Multiple Vantage Points: Southern California Women Artists, 1980-2006." A strong supporter of women in the arts, her studio donated the original LAWiM logo and letterhead design in 2000. Ilene has served as President of the Graphic Arts Guild, Los Angeles Chapter, and was on the Special Committee for the Packaging category of the Grammy Awards.
